Goodbye October! I don't know where you went to. This was my first full month of posting and I surprised myself by posting something at least 3 times a week. I hope November goes by a little slower so I can get all the things I need to get done done! Oh well at least tonight I can relax a little crafting and snaking on some of the candy from our many Halloween outings. Have a great and safe night!
I love seeing little girls with pretty hair decorations. My own children wear them reluctantly. Too bad I didn't figure out until it was to late that you are supposed to put them in at birth. I have been busy making these for hair but they can easily be put on a pin to spruce up a plain shirt too. I love them!
This is part of my cleaning up the clutter although I have digressed from the initial reason for this blog. This is actually taking some of the fabric that I have been storing for YEARS and putting it to good use. Let me know what you think.

Time with friends
In an earlier post I mentioned that I love having guests at my house and just sitting around and talking. Well one thing I look forward to every year is spending time with my best friends for our birthday lunches. They are to long between each one now as we just get busier with our kids and family things, but I do cherish our time together. Today was the perfect day for visiting too. Just a few hours and I feel like we’ve caught up (even though we could go on for many more).
Today I am thankful for the time that I had to spend with friends.
I have been busy creating some new things though and look forward to putting a few more decorations out.

Busy Busy
I haven’t posted in a few days because I believe birthday’s should be celebrated over at least a month’s span. LOL It keeps me young what can I say. Anyway I have been busy cutting the clutter and reviving some old things in my house to make them new. I love how different they look. Here is one of those tiny picture frames that you get and are never quite sure what you are going to put into them. Well I decided to put a silhouette of my little girl in it. Super easy to make. My best friend made some where she just took a photo printed it in black and white and then colored it in with a Sharpie. You can’t tell it is colored in really. I cut mine out of paper though. I thinks it’s adorable. Don’t you?

Guests
I love having guests at my house. I love just sitting and talking. I have been fortunate to have had a few of my favorite people over in the past two weeks. Some expected some unexpected. I am so grateful to have a home to invite people into. I really do strive to have a welcoming home. So I need to get on with my projects which I have taken a short break from, so that I can visit with others. So it is off to the crafting and trying to get rid of my clutter.

Divine Meeting
Today my daughter started dance class. My friend who said she signed up didn’t show up. BOO. You know how these classes can be when you don’t know anyone. I was feeling a little insecure because everyone seemed to be paired up talking and laughing and I was there just sitting with my little one. But then someone started talking to me. She was sent from God to me. She encouraged me and blessed me in just one conversation! Thank you for being open about life with me. I need to be more like that.

Bring on the DESSERT

The wedding was gorgeous. Seriously, the day could not have been better. God held back the rain (because the next day it rained all day). Everything went off without a hitch and then there was the cake or should I say THE CAKE!!! Along with the dessert bar. OK I”m not much of a fan of most wedding cakes (and I have a serious sweet tooth) but this cake was stupid! It was all that and a big bag of M & M’s. Plus if you didn’t get full on the cake (that would be me) you could have oreo’s, smores, cherry pie pops or a 50/50 cream cake!
As I sat back and enjoyed myself this day it made me realize no matter how beautiful the wedding was or how great the cake was or how perfect the day went it doesn’t compare with God’s love that He has for me or what a beautiful place I have waiting for me when I get to heaven. Nothing compares to what we have in Christ Jesus! So I had a wonderful day here and a really blessed time with my family but it makes me want what Jesus has for all eternity. He is the DESSERT! After all this I get to sit down with him for all eternity and have the sweetness of His love surrounding me.
Today I am relishing in the thought of a little more dessert!

Getting Ready

The big day is almost here. I have my checklist:
- dresses
- shoes
- nails done
- hair appointment
- makeup
- pictures
check, check, check. We are preparing for our big family wedding. In our family it only happens about every 7 years or so. It's a big deal as any wedding is…right!
I am reminded of the parable of the 10 virgins waiting for the bridegroom. 5 were wise and were prepared, the other 5 were not ready they didn’t have enough oil. I need to remember that even though all the excitement of this big day, or any big occassion for that matter, should be first and formost be one that I am prepared for by praying and reading my bible. Only God’s love can sustain me and give me the peace that I need to handle all situations.
Everything on the outside is ready but I have to remember to prepare my heart and mind first for this big day.
Today I need a little more time spent in heart preparation.

Bling
Today I need a little more bling.
Have you ever heard of the saying “House Hag?” Well if you haven’t I’m sure you get the picture. No make up, very casual clothing for comfort, hair brushed but not done. Need I go on. It’s not like I set out to look horrible. I did take a shower and get dressed for the day but then little people started pulling me in every direction. Time got away from me and here we are the end of the day when I actually get a chance to look in the mirror and LOUD GASP who is that person!!!! I needed a little more time to get myself looking presentable.
More importantly I need to make time for my soul to be presentable. I know that no matter what the outward looks like, it’s the inside that will shine forth. I always know when I haven’t spent time with the LORD. The bling is not so shiny. Today I do need a little more bling but not on the outside. Today I am focusing on my soul!
